How Citely handles your data.
Last updated 6 May 2026
The short version
Citely processes your website URL and the audit data we generate from reading your public pages. We use Resend to email audits to you. We do not sell your data. We do not share it. Visitor logs are kept only for security and abuse prevention. To request deletion, email hello@citelyapp.com. Citely is UK GDPR compliant.
What we collect
When you run an audit, we store the URL you submitted, the business type, the service area, the audit results, and (if you ask us to email you the audit) the email address you provide. That's the lot.
We do not place advertising trackers on Citely. We do not run third-party fingerprinting scripts. Server access logs (IP address, time of request, user agent) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then deleted.
What we read on your site
Citely fetches your public-facing pages, the same way an AI engine would, and parses the HTML for technical signals. We do not log into anything, we do not crawl admin areas, and we do not touch private data. If a page is publicly accessible to search engines and AI crawlers, it is in scope; nothing else is.
What we do with the data
We use your audit data to generate your visibility score and the five fixes we recommend. If you supply an email address, we use Resend to send you a copy of the audit and, occasionally, product updates. You can unsubscribe with one click on any email we send.
We do not sell your data. We do not pass it to third-party marketers. We do not use it to train AI models. We use it to show you your audit and to improve the audit methodology over time, in aggregate.
Sub-processors we rely on
- Vercel - hosting and edge delivery for the website.
- Supabase - database and authentication for stored audits.
- Resend - transactional email delivery.
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google - we query their APIs as part of the monitoring product, but only with publicly available queries you have approved. Free audits do not call these APIs.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to access the data we hold on you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and ask us to stop processing it. Email hello@citelyapp.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
Citely uses a small number of strictly-necessary cookies for keeping you signed in once authenticated. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics that profile you across sites.
